據統計，去年車禍死亡人數將近兩千人，其中超過78%都是機車的過失，因此交通部研議，機車違規除了繳罰單，還要加重機車強制險，一旦通過，至少有八十五萬輛機車受到影響。

以50cc為例，本來一年強制險要繳658元，一旦違規，就得繳913元，漲幅四成。
