但實質使用效益以及開闢後被破壞之建物利用並非計畫前能考慮周全的，都市開發時往往因因應發展需求而開闢及拓寬道路，產生許多畸零地與銳角建築，而難以使用的地塊造成空間散亂。

本研究從萬昌街沿街商業使用進行調查，將以建築和街道之媒介－建築立面的使用與形式為出發點進行探討，針對萬昌街沿街的建築進行商業立面元素分析，並藉由不同年代發展圖與圖底圖比對沿街建築與道路紋理，檢視其發展成因與脈絡。

本研究從現況發展之建築使用，了解其道路開闢後所產生之新的地塊與其建築利用之情形，藉此提出潛力與限制面，做為未來相關計畫之參考。

英文摘要TheopeningandexpansionofWan-changStreetwasaccordingtotheplanchangingthefourthdistrictofTainancityin1986(anoverallreviewofroadsystem).Dependingonthefunctionsoftheregionandtheneedsofdevelopmentinthecurrentsituation,theplanconsideredthevalueoflanduse,improvedthelivingenvironmentandbusinessactivitiesinordertopromotethedowntownbusinessdistrict.Nevertheless,therealefficiencyofuseanddestructionofthebuildingafterbeingopenedwasnotwellconsidered.Itisoftenthatroadsareopenedandexpandedinordertorespondtotheneedsofdevelopment.Theopeningofanurbancityoftenresultsinagreatdealofscatteredareasandacuteconstruction.Furthermore,thosefragmentedareascausespacedisordered.ThecurrentstudyinvestigatesthecommercialusealongWan-changStreet.Theuseandformofthebuildingfaçade,themediaofbuildingsandstreets,istakenasthestartingpointtoexplorethestreet.ThestudyfurtheranalyzestheelementsofthecommercialbuildingfaçadealongWan-changStreet.Also,byviewingbuildingsandtextureofthestreetbasedonthedevelopmentplanandthebasemapofdifferenttime,thestudyexaminesthecauseandcontextofthedevelopmentofWan-changStreet.Accordi
