Russ is British and has a B.A. in English Language (First Class Honours). He works as a technical writer and proofreader/editor (technical editor) and is a certified Microsoft Word Expert (Word 2016).After joining the British Army at the ripe young age of 19, he served two tours in Northern Ireland before leaving the army in 1990. He worked on the North Sea drilling rigs for a few years before being forced to retrain as a technical writer. Then, after a number of years consulting he took up sailing and scuba-diving. Five years of yacht deliveries eventually brought him to Thailand, where he then met Duangta, his wife.Together, they created the Quest (QUick, Easy, Simple Thai) system for learning Thai: a system consisting 4 books and 2 apps.They live in the NE of Thailand with Odi, their Bangkeaw dog.
